Mischa Käser, Composer & Vocalist

Born 1959 in Zurich, Mischa started to compose his first works already in his childhood with the purpose to discover the world on a  musical level. Lateron he studied Guitar and Lute in Zurich and Basel as well as composition with Hans-Ulrioch Lehmnn and Roland Moser. Since 1990 he is regularly involved both as a composer and performer in theater productions. He also created his own theater and muscial theater productions as director. He is a co-founder of several Ensembles such as the Trio III-VII-Xll, where he acts as Vocalist.


Today Mischa  Käser teaches the guitar, is a theater pedagogue and lives as a composer and performer in Männedorf/Zurich. He mainly composes music for theater productions, vocal music and chamber music. In 1992 he was honoured with the „Zürcher Werkjahr“ by the city of Zurich and in 1996 he received the Conrad Ferdinand Meyer prize. In 1998 his piece for orchestra „Ordouble“ received the 1st prize of the Prix International de Composition musicale „Reine Marie José“. In 2004 he got the composer’s prize of the Canton of Zurich and in the same year he was awarded the 1st prize of the Schweizerische Autorengesellschsaft SSA for his contribution in transdisciplinary work for the project SOUNDING SCULPTURES.
